SK-170GT is a compact all-in-one heat stress monitor that can measure temperature, humidity and heat radiation to calculate WBGT index, which is used as a guide
for preventing heat stroke and estimating heat stress in a hot environment. Conforms to JIS B 7922 Class 2, based on ISO 7243.

SK-170GT complies with the Class 2 (accuracy of WBGT index: ±2°C) of JIS B 7922 "Electronic wet bulb globe temperature (WBGT) index meter" so as to be used as a guide
for preventing heat stroke during sport activities, daily life, and labor time.

A globe on the top detects heat radiation generated by direct and reflected sunlight.
■ Indicates WBGT index, temperature, globe temperature, and humidity
All-in-one measurement enables a variety of application.
■ Screw hole for a tripod
A screw hole in the back enables the unit to be installed on a tripod.
■ Supports switching between two measurement environments, outdoors and indoors
The formula for calculating WBGT index differs when measured outdoors and indoors. SK-170GT has a function to choose either one.
■ Wind speed settable
WBGT index and globe temperature vary depending on the ambient wind speed. SK-170GT corrects the calculation of these values based on the wind speed you input.
■ Display hold function for easy reading
■ Indicates max./min. values for good reference
■ Alarm function
A buzzer sounds when the WBGT reaches a set level.
■ Auto power-off function
The power turns off automatically when not in use for 20 minutes to save battery life even if you forget to turn off.

Optional RS-232C cable is available to send data to a PC for real-time monitoring.

Check sensory temperature with your eyes to prevent heat stress. Useful at following situations:
■ WBGT index
The WBGT, stands for wet bulb globe temperature, is an index to estimate heat stress stated in ISO 7243, which is a sensory temperature calculated from wet bulb temperature,
globe temperature (heat radiation), and dry bulb temperature.
It is necessary to select appropriate mode of the measuring ambient before the calculation since it varies depending on its measuring ambient.
■ Heat stress
Heat stress, or heat stroke, is a generic term of heat-related illness that the body temperature regulation is damaged, and water and saline get lost owing to hot and humid environment.
It may cause even casualty, however, the risk can be reduced by observing the ambient and by being aware of overheating and dehydration.
■ Conforms to JIS B 7922 Class 2
SK-170GT complies with the Class 2 (accuracy of WBGT index: ±2°C) of JIS B 7922 "Electronic wet bulb globe temperature (WBGT) index meter"
which is used as a guide for preventing heat stroke and estimating heat stress in working environment, promulgated in March 2017, in the following measuring range:
WBGT index: 15.0 to 45.0°C; temperature: 20.0 to 40.0°C; globe temperature: 20.0 to 60.0°C; humidity: 30.0 to 90.0%rh; wind speed: 0.3 to 3.0m/s.

Tripod ZF-400WSH (Cat. No. 8310-90)
A tripod is recommended for continuous measurement. Select a location free from heat radiation.

Shield Plate from Radiant (Cat. No. 8310-20)
Protects the sensor and main body of SK-170GT from the radiation of heat source so that it contributes to accurate measurement especially in a long time measurement, an outdoor measurement where heat radiation is strong.
Note that the tripod (Cat. No. 8310-90) is necessary to use it.
