Fast grinding of tablets without the risk of cross-contamination:
Many standardized test procedures in the pharmaceutical industry, such as pharmacopoeia tests as described in official compendia (United States Pharmacopeia (USP 905), European Pharmacopoeia (PhEur 2.9.40) etc.), require the grinding and dissolution of tablets as the first step before further analysis. The challenges in sample preparation include the avoidance of cross-contamination between sample batches, time-consuming cleaning and the often small sample quantities.
The Tube Mill 100 control Pharma Solution package, consisting of the Tube Mill 100 control batch mill and patented disposable plastic chambers with a volume of 100 ml (MT 100.10), was specially put together by the IKA product experts to address these challenges.
Grinding, storage and transport of the samples takes place in a closed, disposable grinding chamber which eliminates the risk of cross-contamination between different batches. The time-consuming cleaning of the mill and the containers after each cycle is also eliminated. The MT grinding chambers are designed to process even the smallest sample quantities from 1 gram (e. g. a single tablet).
The Tube Mill 100 control is a batch mill for grinding hard, brittle and dry materials up to Mohs hardness 5. With its disposable and reusable grinding chambers with volumes of 40 ml or 100 ml, it is versatile and can be used for a wide range of requirements.
