Intended for firefighters, professional breathing apparatus wearers, and other emergency workers, the 3M™ Scott™ EPIC 3 Voice Amplifier provides a dependable, easy-to-use, hands-free way for first responders to communicate person-to-person in what are often life-threatening situations. The EPIC 3 Voice Amplifier is used with respiratory protection equipment to amplify and enhance voice intelligibility and clarity. It includes a high-sensitivity microphone with auto gain control and breath detection technology. The EPIC 3 features an auto shut-off to preserve battery power. The durable apparatus is tested to clauses for flame engulfment contained in EN 137 and can withstand drops. The apparatus delivers 50 hours of runtime with AAA Alkaline batteries, which are compatible with rechargeable NiMH batteries. The EPIC 3 Voice Amplifier meets the NIOSH 42 CFR, Part 84 certification standard, and is approved to the European Standard IEC/EN 61000-4-2. NFPA 1981 approved (2002/2007/2013 Editions). Complies with NFPA 2013 Edition SCBA Sound Transmission Index (STI) acoustic standards for voice intelligibility.
