behrotest® Saponification Unit for the Determination of Vitamin A and E
The process for determining vitamin A and E in food is carried out using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), following the guidelines outlined in DIN EN 12823-1 and DIN EN 12822. The preparation of the samples is done in the behrotest saponification unit. To protect the samples from oxygen exposure, which can alter their composition, the saponification is conducted under reflux, typically in a nitrogen atmosphere.
